1. Introduction

SayTravel (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a mobile application that helps you capture travel memories using your voice, photos, and location. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using SayTravel, you agree to this policy.

3. Information we collect

Account information — If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive information from that provider (such as your name, email address, and profile identifier). Guest mode stores data only on your device until you sign in.

Profile information — Optional date of birth and home city for personalization.

Voice and text — Audio may be sent to OpenAI (Whisper) or processed on-device. Text may be sent to Google Gemini or OpenAI (GPT-4o) for summaries and blogs.

Photos — Stored on your device and, when signed in, in Google Firebase Storage.

Location — Used to tag memories and suggest places via Google Places API. Not used for advertising.

Trip data — Trips, memories, and blogs are stored locally and synced to Google Cloud Firestore when signed in.

4. How we use your information

• Provide and sync trips, memories, photos, and blogs
• Transcribe voice and generate summaries and blog posts
• Authenticate and secure your account

We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

5. Third-party services

Google (Firebase, Sign-In, Places, Gemini), Apple (Sign in with Apple), and OpenAI (Whisper, GPT-4o) may process data according to their own policies.

6. Data storage and security

Signed-in data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud). Security rules restrict access to your own data.

7. Data retention and deletion

You can delete individual trips and memories in the app. To permanently delete your account and all cloud data, use Profile → Delete account in the app. You may also email karteekj@gmail.com.

8. Children

SayTravel is not directed at children under 13 without parental involvement. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data without consent.

9. Your choices

• Deny microphone or location permission (some features will not work)
• Use guest mode without cloud sync
• Edit or delete content in the app
• Sign out or delete your account at any time

10. International users

Data may be processed where our service providers operate, including the United States and India.

11. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new version at this URL with an updated date.
